You should now have a model with the correct materials! It was time consuming because I have only used Unity a couple of times.

I recreated the materials in Unity and then exported them as FBX again. I exported the model from blender as FBX and imported it into Unity. What I did took some work, but made the buyer happy. Import in Unity (not sure about Unreal) All your Revit. In the Editor tab convert all source materials to destination standard materials. I don't know why they wouldn't be, but all you got to do is reassign them in unity. usually with an fbx the albedo and normal textures (if they are applied in your DCC) would be auto assigned. you may need to assign them to the material. Go to Scene Converter (in Rendering menu). make sure the texture files are inside unity as well.

Do the same for "Extract Materials" which should be enabled after the previous step I recently had a request for one of my models in FBX. You can solve this as follows: -Export your files as fbx from Revit. texture not showing in unity import asset into unity, download unity assets, fbx material textureunity material not showing,FBX Importing to Unity,Where did. In Unity, import the asset, then select it and go to the "Materials" tab, click "Extract Textures" and select / create a folder in the Unity project to place it in. Check "Embed Media", use FBX 2018 Binary format and export Now select the FBX link (exported from Revit) and attach itīind the link after attaching it so that we have access to edit the materialsĪccess the 3DS Max "Scene Converter" (3DS Max 2018 and up)īrowse for the following script in the Scene Converterįrom the Scene Converter, select the "Standard Material to Physical Material" option, then select "Apply Only Selected" and then "Convert Scene" (some missing file errors might appear)ĭisable Animation, Camera and Lights. Go to the "Presets" tab and select the desired preset, then select "Modify" and modify as shown below: In 3DS Max, Go to "Reference" and select "Manage Links" This should be easy task but there is not It seem like Blender 2.81 not go easy with import texture for some reason. In Revit, switch to a 3D view, set the visual style to "Realistic" and the LOD to "Medium"Įxport the Revit model to FBX, check "LOD" when exporting and use the latest FBX version The following steps will import Revit models into Unity while maintaining the Revit Materials: There are some paid-for third-party applications that facilitate this workflow but it has proven quite difficult to find a cost-free workflow that does this correctly.īy using 3DS Max and some tricks in Revit, it is indeed possible by using the standard Revit, 3DS Max and Unity out-of-the-box features. Exporting a Revit model to FBX for import into Unity is not as straight forward as exporting and importing FBX files when it comes to maintaining materials.
